The job includes basic public relations duties, such as writing, media relations, researching topics, filling out media reports, helping with client events, as well as filing, faxing, and answering phones. Journalism, public relations, marketing and advertising students are especially encouraged to reply. Note that this is a non-paying position, F/T or P/T.

Write monthly calendars
Update Alumni and Friends database
Write press releases
Type the School Digest and School News for the week
Call businesses regarding donations and sponsorships
Design flyers, volunteer information sheets, etc.
Coordinate parent volunteer hours.
Help perform all other tasks assigned by the Development Director

THIS IS RESPONSIBLE WORK DEVELOPING, COORDINATING AND MAINTAINING EXTENSIVE PUBLIC INFORMATION AND PUBLIC RELATIONS PROGRAMS IN A COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT
Publicizing and promoting agency programs to the public, state and local governments through various communications media, coordinate with Department of Health Communications Office. Plans and directs development and communication of informational programs designed to keep the public informed of agency programs, services, accomplishments or mission.
Prepares and distributes fact sheets, news releases, photographs, scripts or other written materials, motion pictures, or tape recordings to media representatives and others.
Promotes sales and/or creates goodwill for programs, products, services or agency mission, and consults with advertising agencies or staff to arrange promotional campaigns.
Coordinates and/or participates in multi media productions, as well as prepare and edit organizational publications. Develops and coordinates strategy for disseminating information to the media. Purchase advertising space and time as required to promote programs, services or mission. Arranges for and conducts public-contact programs designed to meet agency objectives. Represents agency at public-and business gatherings to promote programs, services or mission.
Performs related work as required.
